It's business (and more) as usual for Jim Moodie. 18-9-04
It's been a few weeks since Jim underwent his leg operation and it's time for an update on his condition. Jim doesn't stay in the one place too long and it will be no surprise that Jim is back training three days a week, albeit limited. Over the weeks Jim's been making adjustments to the complex frame that surrounds his leg, adjustments that are computer generated and have to be done at specific intervals as the leg heals. Now most of the adjustments are done, regular physiotherapy is now the norm.
Apart from the above if anyone thinks that Jim's sitting in the house then nothing could be further from the truth. It is the silly season and Jim's been up and down the country meeting various people in his rider management capacity and it wouldn't surprise me if Jim had one or two interesting projects up his sleeve. Jim keeps matters like this close to his chest, but I'm sure we'll all hear more in the coming days or weeks.
Jim's also been involved, before and after his operation, in the making of a DVD on the best superbikes in the world. The DVD, produced by Green Light, sees Jim along with Scott Smart and John McGuinness, evaluating the best bikes in the world. I can't give too much away, but this'll be a must see DVD and when it comes nearer completion and release I will let you all know.
Now if any of you have been tuning into Sky's coverage of the British Superbikes then you would be hearing Jim's co-commentary. I think you'll agree that Jim's informative comments certainly add that little extra to the supersport races.
At the beginning of this year Jim had most of his own racing plans all in place. To say the outcome was disappointing is a slight understatement and to pick up two injuries before the season starts is something Jim wants to put behind him. For this reason, and the fact that his leg is still on the mend, Jim is rather more guarded this time around and it will be some time before we'll get to know his plans for 2005. I've said it before, and it's the best indicator, Jim's not training hard to sit in the house.
Finally, Jim says thanks to all who've been asking about his recovery and he's notice there have been one or two references on other web sites. Stay Tuned.
